Lancaster, Pennsylvania (December 5, 2011) – Three representatives from geographIT participated in GIS Day activities in south central Pennsylvania. On November 16th, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) jointly hosted a
GIS Day Celebration at HACC’s Harrisburg campus. Bruce Stauffer, Andrew Ross, and Andrew Smart presented using
marcellus monitor™ to map and analyze Marcellus well permits and production data; using LiDAR data to model statewide cell tower broadband coverage in Pennsylvania; and using Open Source, freeware, and free tools to publish a web GIS map of USGS stream gauge data. Andrew Smart also participated at Lancaster County’s GIS Day on November 18th where he presented on the topic of realizing a return on investment using mobile GIS applications.
